Our Philosophy
Welcome to Papaarangi Home! We believe in the power of recovery, not just as a process, but as a journey of growth, independence, and possibility. Recovery means supporting people to take control of their own lives and empowering them to reach their fullest potential.
At our home, we provide safe, timely, and compassionate care through a team of dedicated professionals who honour the dignity, strengths, and aspirations of every individual we serve, at every stage of life.

Our Story
For over 30 years, Papaarangi Home for Disabilities has been more than just a place to live, it has been a safe haven and a source of hope. Founded by Veronica Marshall, our home was built on a simple yet powerful vision: to create a warm, whānau-oriented environment where people with intellectual and physical disabilities are truly valued, supported, and empowered.
What began as one woman’s mission has grown into a legacy of care, dignity, and opportunity. Over the decades, we’ve walked alongside many individuals on their journeys of rehabilitation, recovery, and community integration. We’ve witnessed incredible transformations, people rediscovering independence, building lifelong friendships, and living fuller, richer lives.
Today, Papaarangi Home carries forward its whānau spirit - a true home where every person is valued for who they are. A place where every person is seen for their strengths, encouraged in their goals, and supported to live with pride, mana and purpose!

Management

Veronica Marshall
Director
After 40 years of working in the disability sector, Veronica witnessed first-hand the gaps in authentic care and the lack of true compassion being shown to people living with disabilities and mental health. Driven by a deep sense of purpose, she set out to change that.
Veronicas “why” has always been clear; to create a place where dignity, whānau values, and true care come first. That vision remains the heart of Papaarangi Home today.
